A Few Words About Me
How can poetry help people living with dementia?
‘A Few Words About Me’ was a community-based project that ran from October 2017 to March 2018, organised by Funder Films and funded by the National Lottery and Kent Community Foundation.
As part of Dementia Awareness Week, Jasper Bouverie will show some short films documenting this recent project in Canterbury, Victoria Field will talk about the theory and practice of biblio-poetry therapy as it relates to dementia and Fay Blair will describe the process of evaluating the project. There will be opportunities to experience some of the creative writing techniques used in the sessions and for discussion.
This masterclass will be of interest to those working with people living with dementia, mental health and nursing professionals and writers who may wish to use their skills in the community.
